Bio

De’Angelo Bryant is entering his second year as the Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director
at Gray Collegiate Academy. De’Angelo is a proud graduate of Wake Forest University, where he earned
an undergraduate degree in Sociology in 2007. During his stint at Wake Forest, he was a starting running
back and fullback on the 2006 ACC Championship, 2007 FedEx Orange Bowl and 2007 Meineke Car
Care Bowl football teams. Prior to his collegiate career, Bryant won consecutive football state
championships at Silver Bluff High School and was a representative in the 2002 Shrine Bowl and 2003
SC/NC Select Baseball Game (one of few players to accomplish this in South Carolina High School
history).
Coach Bryant coached football and track & field for eight years at White Knoll High School in
Lexington, South Carolina and spent one season at James Island Charter High School in Charleston,
South Carolina. He completed his degree in Master of Education in Secondary Education from Grand
Canyon University and has 16 years of experience in secondary education. In 2014, Coach Bryant
founded NexStep Student-Athlete Academy, Inc.; a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide
high-level preparation and education to student-athletes that will help them excel in specific areas for
college recruitment. In addition, he served as the national correspondent for a national publication source,
Draft Nasty Magazine.
Bryant returned to his alma mater Silver Bluff High School, where in spent six seasons as the Head
Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. In 2021, Coach Bryant guided the Silver Bluff Bulldogs
football team to Class AA State Championship game. The team captured is first region title since 2015
and became 2A Lower State Champions. Coach Bryant was honored as the Region 5-AA Coach of the
Year, South Carolina Football Coaches Association AA Lower State Coach of the Year, and the WJBF
Sports and Augusta Sports Council Coach of the Year. In 2023, he was named the Region 3-AA Athletic
Director of the Year and the South Carolina Football Coaches Association Class AA Upper State Coach
of the Year.

De’Angelo and his lovely wife, Courtney, share three loving children, Jaden (21), London (14) and
Sydney (11).
